Multigrain Cookies

Preparation

Bake Time:  10-14 minutes

Makes:  1 1/2 dozen

Ingredients

1/2 cup (125 mL)
butter or margarine (at room temperature)
1/4 cup (60 mL)
vegetable oil
1 cup (250 mL)
brown sugar
1/4 cup (60 mL)
sugar
1
egg, large
2 tsp. (10 mL)
vanilla
1 cup (250 mL)
all-purpose flour
1 cup (250 mL)
whole wheat flour
1 tsp. (5 mL)
baking soda
1/2 tsp. (2.5 mL)
salt
1 cup (250 mL)
chocolate chips
1/2 cup (125 mL)
walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup (125 mL)
SunRype FunBites 100% Fruit Snacks (any flavour)
1/4 cup (60 mL)
sunflower seeds

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, beat butter, oil, brown sugar & sugar. Beat in egg & vanilla. In a separate bowl, stir together the flours, baking soda & salt. Add to wet mixture. Add chocolate chips, walnuts, SunRype FunBites and sunflower seeds. Drop by spoonful onto parchment lined cookie sheet & bake for 10-14 minutes or until golden brown around the edges but still soft in the middle. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
